This is vaguely reminiscent of a ruse a friend of a friend of mine used to employ to catch out Irish celebrities. He would spot Daithi Ó Sé or Frankie Sheahan (two actual victims of this trick) across a bar and call out 'Daithi, Daithi, photo??' while holding a smartphone aloft.
Daithi would graciously oblige, anything for the fans and all that. Whereupon, my acquaintance would hand Daithi the phone and pull his own friend in to pose for the photo.
Gareth Bale has been reduced to the status of James Rodriguez's photographer by these Real Madrid fans. Many are leaping on the incident to hammer home Bale's supposed unpopularity in Madrid.
To be honest it's not that brilliant a story. Indeed, we don't know whether Rodriguez was subsequently called upon to perform photographer duties himself. Probably not.
