We may not have seen it through the majesty of the Sky Sports News coverage but behind the scenes of Monday's transfer extravaganza, it seems all was not well 'around the grounds'.

The bi-annual deadline day event has become a fixture of the football calendar for better or for worse and the pomp and ceremony surrounding it has come in for quite a bit of criticism in recent years. And while we did get a chance to see dildos and blow up dolls yesterday, there was a more serious element to some fans disquiet.

Kaveh Solhekol was forced to abandon his post outside Sehurst Park on Monday evening when a group of Crystal Palace fans staged a protest at against Sky Sports' perceived dictatorship of the football landscape since the launch of the Premier League in 1992.

The Telegraph are also reporting that, at the time of Danny Welbeck's impending transfer to Arsenal, Geraint Hughes was forced to continue his broadcast from inside the Emirates Stadium on the advice of security personnel.

In relation to the on camera incidents, Sky have been forced to apologise after the British broadcasting regulators, Ofcom, received eight official complaints.

'We apologise to those whose enjoyment was spoiled by a small number of incidents and we're looking into ways to avoid this happening again in the future whilst ensuring fans remain a key part our live coverage.'
