After spending what was seen as an absurd amount of money on then relatively unknown Monaco starlet Anthony Martial in 2015, it seems as though the club could be returning for another big signing this summer.

AS Monaco have been the talk of Europe this season with their attractive, free-scoring football, and teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe has been linked with all of the big clubs on the continent, but it is Portuguese attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva who is apparently on Jose Mourinho's radar.

Silva has been the creative spark behind much of Monaco's breathtaking attacking play, and according to magazine France Football [via GetFootballNewsFrance.com] Man Utd are already in advanced talks over a deal in the region of €50m.

Portuguese international and AS Monaco sensation Bernardo Silva is in advanced talks with Manchester United over a possible summer move, according to France Football.

The media outlet’s magazine edition this Tuesday indicates that the player is in advanced contact with the Red Devils about working under José Mourinho next season, in a deal worth around €50m, according to the report.

Portuguese media have since picked up on the rumours, with A Bola echoing the suggestion that Jose Mourinho wants to bring his compatriot to Old Trafford.

The sensational season of Portuguese Bernardo Silva is not going unnoticed by European sharks.

According to this Tuesday's edition of the prestigious French publication France Football, the Monegasque number 10 will be one step closer to signing for Manchester United to be coached by José Mourinho.

We just learned that Monegasque is the correct term for a native of Monaco. Interesting.

Silva is an extremely exciting talent and can play on either flank or through the middle, so his versatility makes him an even more attractive proposition on top of his eight goals and nine assists for Monaco this season.

It's set to be another big summer of spending for Manchester United, who proved last year that they can attract big names even without Champions League football, but you can't help but feel that should they secure fourth place, or win the Europa League, they would be given a big boost in acquiring their desired targets.

The club have also been linked with Antoine Griezmann (again) and Torino striker Andrea Belotti today, so there are plans in motion for when the transfer window opens.
