Man City have received a Frank Lampard-shaped boost for the remainder of the season.
The 36-year-old's initial loan deal at Man City ends at midnight on New Year's Eve but the club have confirmed his time at the Etihad will be extended until the end of the season.
Manchester City can confirm that it has extended Frank Lampard’s contract up to the end of Manchester City’s season, enabling his continued participation in both domestic and European campaigns.
Lampard signed for new MLS franchise New York FC (which is owned by Man City) back in July but a month later it was announced he would join Man City on loan.
He has scored six goals in all competitions for City so far this season including the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
