After a disastrous season, Everton supporters will be delighted that their team will be able to move forward as a Premier League club next season.

There were a number of occasions over the last few months where their status in the division looked to be in jeopardy. However, the dramatic victory over Crystal Palace in the penultimate game of the campaign ensured they would finish just outside the bottom three.

Ultimately, it was job done for Frank Lampard. The club would have hoped that his appointment in January would have seen Everton well out of relegation trouble by the end of the season, and while results were still mixed, they can now move on and formulate a plan to move up the table during the 2022/23 campaign.

Seamus Coleman is likely to be a part of that. Some Everton fans questioned his future at the club in recent times, although Lampard seems to be a huge fan of his. He was effusive in his praise of the Donegal man after safety was secured, and has now revealed his role in turning their season around.

Speaking to EvertonTV, Frank Lampard said summed up just how impressed he has been with Seamus Coleman since arriving at the club.

On day one, Seamus came to me, sat in my office and was honest about the club, things that will remain private. But he was honest about the situation and the size of the situation.

I could see straight away the burden Seamus was carrying, in a good way, because he cares so much, and he just wanted to change it. From then on, after those words, his actions have been something else: speaking, training, standards every day, performances in games.

I have never seen humility like it, in my time in football.

I heard a lot of good things about Seamus before I came to the club. He has gone there and beyond. I have never met anyone who has his morals and standards and he is an incredible player. You talk about legends of football clubs and he is certainly one of those.

At 33-years old, Coleman still has plenty to offer to Everton.

His presence in the dressing room will certainly be key in installing the right type of attitude at the club, something that has been lacking in the recent past.
