Nathaniel Clyne is an excellent signing for Liverpool. Obviously enough you can't say that with any certainty until he has a few seasons behind him but at the moment, it appears Brendan Rodgers has significantly upgraded his first choice right back for a more than reasonable £12 million.
Despite that, there has been some trepidation about the fact that he came from Southampton. It shouldn't matter of course but, considering how Liverpool's shopping spree on the south coast of England turned out last year, it has been mentioned once or twice.
While Liverpool may have gotten a bargain, that hasn't stopped Southampton fans from pointing out the less than stellar performances of the likes of Lambert and Lovren last season. One noteworthy fan who chose to go down that route was former defender, and all round Saints legend, Francis Benali.
