Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has been sacked by Anzhi Makhachkala just over two weeks and two games into his reign as manager.
During his two matches in charge Anzhi drew 1-1 with Krylya Sovetova and lost 1-0 to Rostov.
Anzhi's reign of financial terror is over - budget to be cut to $50-70m per year, stars to be sold. Meulensteen sacked.

Meulensteen succeeded fellow Dutch man Guus Hiddink as manager of the club which has Samuel Eto'o, Willian and Lassana Diarra amongst it's highly paid employees. The new Russian season is just four games old and Anzhi are currently thirteenth in the table.
It seems that Meulensteen was sacked due to changes being made at the club rather than his performance as manager.
Up to 3 reported reasons: 1) Constant fights between club's stars 2) Kerimov's Uralkali business on the wane 3) Kerimov's health failing
