When most footballers retire they write a book, play in the odd charity football game or maybe become a member of the media.

Not former Germany and Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese. The man who has six international caps could be heading for the WWE.

Here's what he told Bild this week:

I have an official enquiry from the WWE. It’s about working for them as a wrestler. I will listen. I don’t shit my pants. Why should I immediately say no? Wrestling is very popular, especially in the [United] States. I will go through the enquiry with my agent next week.

Wiese was released by Hoffenheim earlier this year, even though he still had two years remaining on his contract. The keeper had taken up bodybuilding and his body shape was no longer suited to playing football.

The German could follow in the footsteps of another former goalkeeper, Stuart Tomlinson, who once played for Port Vale and is now a WWE NXT wrestler named Hugo Knox.
