Long before Roman Abramovic brought his billions to Stamford Bridge, Terry Bradbury played for Chelsea earning just £25 pounds a week.
The 74-year-old made his Chelsea debut in 1957 before moving to Southend for a lofty £6,000 but Bradbury has now netted more than £5.5m from the British Lottery.
The midfielder played at a time when there was no Russian oligarchs, no million pound transfers and no players engineering moves for profit (looking at you Raheem Sterling).
Bradbury said he doesn't begrudge modern footballers and insists he played in the "golden era" of football, presumably the gold referred to the game itself in those days.
He said he will spend the money on a villa in Spain for his family and grandchildren, a well-earned bonus for a player motivated by the love of game, rather than his bank balance (Sorry Raheem).
