Concussion is the hot topic in sport at the moment - with the NFL eventually admitting a link between concussions and CTE, and rugby's HIA continually under fire from medical professionals.

Football has had a few players knocked out in recent years - not at the same frequency - but that doesn't mean that former players aren't affected.

The FA are asking FIFA to investigate a link between dementia and head injuries in football after three members of the 1966 World Cup winning squad were diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

The diagnoses of Martin Peters, Nobby Stiles, and Ray Wilson come after the death of fellow 1966 player Jeff Astle death in 2002. Astle's family have tirelessly campaigned for an investigation believing his death to be linked to heading heavy footballs.
