Some outstanding sleuthing work has been performed over on Twitter by Darren aka @thedeviltweets this afternoon. Follow the trail and you'll get pretty close to the identity of author The Secret Footballer. Apparently, it's down to Paul Robinson, Chris Samba and Charlie Adam. Samba's in Russia, which would probably rule him out. Here's a TSF column on goalkeeping that might reads pretty interestingly in light of all of this.

A quick check on "whois" and you see the domain is registered to "IPS Law" who only have 3 footballing clients...
