FIFA as if not already unpopular enough, have taken the bizarre decision to ban Nico Rosberg from displaying an image of the World Cup trophy on his helmet in advance of his home Grand Prix in Hockenheim this weekend, as to do so would breach "intellectual property" rights.

FIFA maintain that they are:

obliged to take action against any unauthorised reproduction of its intellectual property in a commercial context

Going on to state:

We cannot allow a commercially branded helmet to feature the trophy as this would jeopardise the rights of our commercial affiliates.

Another fine example, if it were needed of FIFA well and truly milking that World Cup cash cow.
