With Manchester United due to travel to Anfield to face Liverpool this weekend, many pundits and fans have publicly stated their disgust at the songs sung from both sides about the Munich and Hillsborough tragedies. One of the most vocal critics of the songs has been Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson.

After the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989, Ferguson offered to help the Anfield club in any way he could, with United also making a £25,000 donation to the relief fund.
