The book is ghosted by Daily Telegraph journalist Paul Hayward. He wrote in the Daily Telegraph recently that it was like "taking on the life story of the Prime Minister."
Ferguson's last autobiography, 'Managing My Life' was released in 1999. The book was ghosted by Sunday Times' journalist Hugh Mcllvanney. Some of the most interesting revelations from that book can be found here.
The press conference itself should be an intriguing affair for a few reasons
- As Fergie biographer, and sometime critic, Michael Crick has pointed out, Ferguson will face more news journalists than he used to seeing and they presumably be less cowed from asking the tough, pointed question.
- Even the football journalists might be more emboldened to ask tough questions. There aren't too many more press conferences that you can get yourself banned from.
- Ferguson, for his part, should be less guarded than usual, not having responsibility for a massive football club anymore
Fergie has promised that the book will be "honest" and "revealing."
Folk who should be on tenterhooks
1. The Boy Rooney
2. Roy Keane (Hayward, interestingly, is a strong critic of Keane)
3. Rafa Benitez (he probably doesn't care)
4. The Girl From Spice
5. Ruud Van Nistelrooy
6. Arsene Wenger and all involved in pizzagate
7. BBC
Hayward is nervous and excited about the launch
Feel very furtive on train with Sir Alex Ferguson's new book. Just hope people enjoy the depth of insights from him on players, rivals, life

Some have noted the timing of the press conference clashes with Moyes' Champions League press conference this afternoon
David Moyes Champs Lge press conference 1.30. Alex Ferguson book launch 1.00, embargo lifts at 2. Not overshadowing his successor at all...
