There had already been one red card in the Istanbul derby, with former Real Madrid centre back Pepe receiving his marching orders for a violent challenge on a Fenerbache forward in the first half.
The Turkish FA has yet to decide whether the match will be replayed or whether Besiktas will be awarded the win in the wake of the Fenerbache fans' violent behaviour.
