A Comical Glitch On The Official Premier League App Is Taking The Piss Out Of Users

If you have the official Premier League app download on your mobile phone, then you're probably wondering why Arsenal played 7 games this afternoon...

A very weird bug has caused the app, which is currently sitting at 59th in the Apple App Store free downloads section, to send push notifications to anyone who has installed on their phone.

That's grand, right? We want the latest news now so we can stay up to date... Well, it's a shame that it appears to be posting results from over a decade ago...

Users have been driven mad by the spam and are taking to twitter to vent:

Obviously, nobody likes to be spammed on their phone by push notifications, which is why many people have turned the feature off, but when it comes to scores and players news (especially for fantasy football), speed can often be key... When it's not Nelson Vivas missing penalties from 16 years ago that is.

Imagine being an Arsenal fan on the way home from work and having Manchester United's 8-2 win at Old Trafford sent to your phone three times... It's a comical glitch to happen to the official Premier League app.

We're expecting an explanation soon, although it looks as though an intern updating the back catalogue of results has had a shocker.
