Uefa have much to answer for. Firstly, they are presiding over a Champions League that is no longer necessary to watch before February, and this will only get worse following their recent agreement to ringfence 16 Champions League spots for clubs from England, Spain, Germany and Italy.

And regarding international football, they've flooded the Euros with extra teams and have taken Euro 2020 on the road, making it absurdly expensive for fans to follow their countries.

Many reacted with horror at both the clash, and the fact that the kit is an affront to the sighted.
