Uefa have much to answer for. Firstly, they are presiding over a Champions League that is no longer necessary to watch before February, and this will only get worse following their recent agreement to ringfence 16 Champions League spots for clubs from England, Spain, Germany and Italy.
And regarding international football, they've flooded the Euros with extra teams and have taken Euro 2020 on the road, making it absurdly expensive for fans to follow their countries.
But now, Uefa have committed one of their greatest transgressive acts of some time, perhaps ever.
It is in relation to the choice of kits for tonight's clash between Barcelona and Manchester City in the Champions League.
One would imagine that City's regular sky blue kit would have been just fine for the game, but no. They've decided to wear their frankly abhorrent mash of orange and blue, and it's not massively dissimilar to Barca's home kit:
It appears to be the latest step in City morphing into Barca-lite: that kit looks like they are wearing one of Barca's dodgy away kits from the last few years.
Many reacted with horror at both the clash, and the fact that the kit is an affront to the sighted.

Why have #ManCity modelled their away kit on #swizzels drumstick squashies? pic.twitter.com/63og0Mcene

The #ManCity kit looks like the smudge you get when you use a highlighter before the ink from your biro's dried properly... #BarcaCity

Man City changing kit to wear a jersey that has both of the Barcelona colours in it. They should be thrown out of the tournament. #FCBMCFC
