In a week which saw a game between Lyon and Bastia called off after the latter club's fans twice attacked Lyon players on the pitch, the Copenhagen derby took a turn for the grotesque with just five minutes remaining.
You might recall an incident from Down Under a few months ago, when Western Sydney Wanderers goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic's goal was pelted with rubber snakes on his derby return to Sydney FC. Well, Brondby fans took it a step further when Copenhagen's Ludwig Augustinsson - who, incidentally, has never played for Brondby - trotted towards the corner flag.
With Brondby trailing 1-0 at home to their arch rivals, a number of them began launching dead rats at the 22-year-old Swede. Actual, real dead rats.

The away side's players were forced to kick the dead rats off the field of play in order to continue with their corner. Indeed, as you'll see in the images below, one security guard picked a rat up by the tail and tossed it off the pitch.
Capital rivals Copenhagen and Brondby are separated by just seven kilometres, which isn't to suggest proximity is justifiable cause to pelt somebody with dead rats.

In the end, the Cophenagen players had the last laugh, as they emerged victorious by a scoreline of 1-0.
