It will be the 3rd year in a row that Shelbourne and Athlone Town will contest the Women's FAI Cup final. Tallaght Stadium will host the final as the teams continue their ongoing rivalry next month
Last year's final was a thriller that saw Athlone take home the trophy after 6-5 victory on penalties while Shelbourne took the bragging rights in 2022 winning 2-0.
The semi-finals of this years FAI Cup had a familiar look to them as three of last season's final four made it to the penultimate stage with last years finalists coming out on top.
As both teams battle it out for a league and cup double, it's Athlone that currently sit at the top of the league table, two points ahead of Shelbourne and Galway United, who have both played a game more than Ciarán Kilduff's Athlone side.
They have faced off twice already this season with very little to choose between the teams. Athlone won 2-1 at Tolka Park in August, while they played out a 1-1 draw in the midlands in March.

Shelbourne defeated Galway United and Shamrock Rovers before an impressive 5-0 win at home to Cork City on Saturday to book their place in the final.
While Athlone confirmed their place in the final with a narrow 1-0 win over Sligo Rovers in The Showgrounds, with Shauna Brennan bagging the all-important goal.
Shelbourne are chasing their 3rd Women's FAI Cup in what will be their 6th appearance in the final having lifted the trophy in 2016 and 2022.
A draw will take place on Monday to designate which team will be confirmed as the home team for the final that will be broadcast live on RTÉ2.
