Man United are considering the possibility of extending Radamel Falcao's loan deal until January. His current deal expires on June 1st and United clearly aren't keen on forking out the agreed £43.2 million fee to French side Monaco to make the deal permanent.
This deal could represent value for both parties with United not willing to spend big money on a player who has disappointed this season and Monaco happy to keep the £250,000-per-week earning Falcao off their wage bill.
Van Gaal clearly believes that the Colombian still has something to offer. After all, he has been one of the world's best strikers in recent years despite his meagre tally of only 4 goals this season.
Perhaps it was the knock on effects from his season ending knee-ligament injury prior to the World Cup that have led to his recent struggles. Either way, this must be his final chance to prove himself as a Man United player.
