It would make sense.
Falcao is in need of a top club to prove that he can still do it. Chelsea are in need of a good striker to cover Diego Costa. And throw the Jorge Mendes link into things and it seems like a very probable move. Especially when you consider that the Colombian is desperate for it to happen.
The Telegraph are today reporting that the Monaco striker is so keen to push through a move to Stamford Bridge that he is willing to take a hefty wage cut.
Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes has close links to Chelsea given that he includes Jose Mourinho among his clients. The Colombian's reported £265,000 a week wages would put a halt to the move considering the season he's had. Eden Hazard is Chelsea's highest earner at around £200,000 and it seems Falcao would be willing to go below that to force through the move.
That's still a very hefty wage packet so there's a very real possibility that Mourinho may not sanction the move. however, there's no doubt it would annoy Man United to see Falcao go to Stamford Bridge and recapture some of his form.
