The FAI have released a document which they have titled a Cool Kids Guide To The Euros, as a way of teaching youngsters more about the history and culture of competing nations.
The FAI describe it as follows:
We have developed this booklet as a fun way of learning through football, read some interesting facts about the culture, georgraphy and history of each nation participating in Euro 2016, as well as the key football information for each team before the real action gets underway in France.
We have included a lesson on French geography and a basic introduction to the French language through words we associate with football. After you have studied each country we have some fun games that can be completed such as: a crossword, a word search, a quiz, and drawing and creative writing exercises. There is also a fun wall chart to help you keep up to date with the fixtures and tables.
It sounds like a great idea to us.
The guide also features a sections Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Sadly, there's been a slight error. To give more historical and political background, each side features a 'Did You Know' section. These sections come from the mouth of the Euro 2016 mascot Super Victor, (which you may have read shares a name with a dildo). Sadly, they've got one aspect of this slightly wrong. Here is a screengrab from the Northern Ireland section:

Hmmm.
Not to be overly pedantic, but the Civil War began in 1921. Furthermore, Ireland was declared as a Republic slightly later than 1921: it all happened in 1948.
We assume Super Victor meant to say that the Irish Free State was established in 1922 after a War of Independence.
