Shand Duffy's father, Brian, took to Facebook to confirm that both men were OK but 'a little shaken up', and claimed that the Jeep both men were driving in was written off [via Independent.ie].
Believe me my heart missed a beat when Shane told me what happened.
Frightening stuff - as my Nicole says life is too short. We thank God he is ok. Back is sore and very shaken up but he is still on his way to Dublin. He will be fine. He is one tough ticket.
Jeep was a write off. He is a top lad and we are all behind him.
Ger Keville of the Independent also reports that it was a three-car collision, which it sounds like a scary experience but thankfully their injuries were not serious.
Ireland play Mexico in New York on Thursday.
