After three years, 38 appearances and just three goals, Fabio Borini's time with Liverpool is close to an end.
According to the Press Association, Liverpool are in talks with Fiorentina over the sale of the player.
The Italian arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2012 from Roma for a fee of £10.5 million as Brendan Rodger's first signing. He was just off the back of a decent season with the Serie A side.
He scored twice in 20 games in a disappointing first season before a moderately successful loan at Sunderland for 2013/14. Once against last season was another lacklustre affair for the 24-year-old.
With the acquisitions of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Divock Origi, the one-cap Italian international is very much surplus to requirements for Brendan Rodgers.
