The 1st of April is an absolute pain in the hoop on the internet, which becomes a cesspit of shit footy b*nter gags and woeful transfer rumours (although somewhat ironically, it's probably the only day of the year when almost everybody fact-checks what they're reading).

That being said, there's always the odd gem to pull you through the day, and footage resurfaced yesterday of City TV's cracking prank on one of their own presenters on April 1st last year. The video slipped the radar somewhat at the time, but was shared on Facebook by Soccer AM and others yesterday - finally getting the credit it deserves.

Man City's Senior Broadcast Journalist Nicola McCarthy, who hails from Co. Down, has worked with City since 2012, conducting interviews with players and presenting shows for their online channels. Ahead of an interview with Fabian Delph, her colleagues arranged for the former Aston Villa man to throw a wobbler when she asked about the injuries which had plagued him last season. Delph didn't disappoint, even if he clearly felt bad about it...

That's a serious performance from Delph - just about his only one for the past 12 months, in fact.

McCarthy said after the incident:

My heart literally dropped as I know how Fabian has been struggling with injuries this season and I genuinely thought I had upset him.

I can’t believe my colleagues put me through it, I was raging with them. Although I do appreciate their stellar effort. It will take me a while to get over it!
