It was a little bit boring wasn't it? The 'magic of the cup' hasn't really shown itself up yet. Plymouth drew at Anfield, Millwall picked Bournemouth apart, while Stoke and West Brom also fell to lower league opposition.
Daryl Horgan made his debut though! Apart from that, it was a quiet enough weekend. We sifted through all of the games and picked the best eleven players from Round 3 of the FA Cup.
GK - Scott Carson (Derby)
While Carson was a bit dodgy at the start of Derby's game with West Brom, he made a number of important saves including keeping out efforts from James Morrison, Matt Phillips and a brilliant fingertip one late on to deny Salomon Rondon an equalizer.
LB- Matt Doherty (Wolves)
Can he do it on a cold windy day at Stoke though? Well, as we saw yesterday, Matt Doherty certainly can.
Ten minutes to go and Wolves have a free kick in a dangerous position. Up trots Doherty and nonchalantly smashes it past Lee Grant to put the away side two up. He's been an ever present in the Championship and could make an appearance in an Ireland squad in the near future.
CB - Virgil Van Dijk (Southampton)
Almost a mainstay in these teams every weekend. Another strong game in the air for the Dutchman who grabbed another goal to perhaps throw another £10,000 on his price tag before Liverpool inevitably sign him in a few weeks.
CB - Sonny Bradley (Plymouth)
Liverpool threw everything at Plymouth for 96 minutes. Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Adam Lallana, a kitchen sink. But they couldn't find a way past a resolute Argyle defence, led by 25 year old Sonny Bradley. He'll probably have a trickier task in the replay when Roberto Firmino will appear at some stage, but let's give him his 15 minutes in the sunshine.
RB- Shaun Cummings (Millwall)
Milwall provided one of the 'giantkillings' of the third round when they dispatched of Premier League Bournemouth. Cummings was the man charged with keeping Ryan Fraser out of the game - Liverpool fans know all about him after the Cherries' comeback a few weeks ago. Cummings kept him in his pocket and even got on the scoresheet for the Lions.
CM - Tom Field (Brentford)
Brentford scored five delicious first half goals against Graham Stack's Eastleigh, and Tom Field grabbed two of them. In doing so, he somewhat wrote his name into the history books. No sign of Scott Hogan yesterday, which of course means he's NAILED ON for a move in the January window. Because that's the transfer logic.
2 - Tom Field is the first Brentford player to score a brace in the FA Cup since Marcello Trotta in December 2012. Sting.

CM - Yaya Toure (Man City)
West Ham aren't too good at football, and you can't afford that when you're against a rampaging bull in midfield. Toure proved his quality with a goal, an assist and a 96% pass success rate. 102 touches was more than any player on the West Ham team and was only topped by his two centre backs. Beast mode.
CM - Jack Payne (Huddersfield)
Huddersfield progressed past Port Vale 4-0 and it was Payne who started and finished the scoring for the Terriers. No one will want David Wagner's side in the fourth round - they haven't lost since the 28th of November and were extremely comfortable against admittedly weaker opposition.
Enjoyed that! Good to get through to the next round ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/nYhVeiYTzQ

LW- Marcus Rashford (Man United)
Despite being gifted the second of his two goals by Ali Al-Habsi, Rashford was a nightmare for Reading to deal with all game. Playing up top on his own for the majority of the match, Rashford's pace stretched the Royals defence and allowed the trio of Rooney, Martial and Mata to pick them apart. His first goal was well taken after a glorious Michael Carrick pass.
RW - Ahmed Musa (Leicester)
Musa only came onto the pitch in the 35th minute for Premier League champions Leicester, but he turned the game around in a five minute spell. Everton had just taken the lead through Romelu Lukaku, but Musa scrambled the ball past Joel Robles to equalize. Five minutes after, his combination with Danny Drinkwater opened up the Toffees and the Foxes went through.

ST - Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)
How important is Olivier Giroud to Arsenal?
10 - Olivier Giroud has scored in each of his last eight starts for Arsenal in all competitions, netting 10 goals. Clinical.
— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) January 7, 2017
That important. The Frenchman grabbed another late goal to put Arsenal into the draw for the next round just as it looked like the Wenger Out brigade were gathering. Winning all of his aerial duels and four of his six shots on target at Deepdale puts Giroud up top in our team.
