The January transfer window is officially open and we've already seen Shane Long linked with a move.
Speculation is sure to swirl wildly around nearly every Premier League club, but this year the added threat of Chinese clubs coming in and suffocating players with cash is something that a lot of managers are going to have to look out for.
While transfer fees continue to rise, there are of course bargains to be had on a free, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Man Utd and Joel Matip of Liverpool being two good examples from last summer.
Summer 2017 will be no exception when in this regard, as there are a lot of good players who have yet to secure contract extensions with their current clubs who are now free to talk to other teams.
We've put together an XI of some of the best.
While we left out the likes of Carrick, Ibrahimovic, and De Rossi because it is almost certain that their clubs will offer an extension, or have in Zlatan's case, there is a chance that many of these players will accept new deals and stay put, such as Pepe and Santi Cazorla.
Goalkeeper
Rene Adler is an experience German shot-stopper who has had a turbulent time with Hamburg's yo-yo form, but he's been in and around German national squads for some time, and is better than a lot of first choice goalkeepers in Europe's major leagues. Adrian also came into consideration here, as he may well leave West Ham having lost his place to Darren Randolph.
Defence
There are some fantastic full-backs available on a free, inluding Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy, and Bacary Sagna all from Man City who just missed out on this team. Tremoulinas is recovering from a nasty injury, but Sevilla would be made to let him go for nothing.
Midfield
That is a bloody strong midfield three, and the wingers in Robben and Paul-Georges Ntep, who is earning rave reviews in France, are not too shabby either. Surely these players will have all sorts of offers on the table very soon.
Attack
Apart from Sadio Berahino and Chupo-Moting of Schalke, there are not too many options in the striker department, which make Fernando Torres the most attractive prospect for a club looking to bring in a bit of firepower this summer.
