When Walter Smith brought El Hadji Diouf to Ibrox in 2011, we deemed it the most socially irresponsible act in the history of the Old Firm.
The Scottish Football schedule guys are giving Walter a run for his money. Saturday's Celtic-Rangers clash, the first in the Scottish Premier League since 2012, was one of the most poisonous for many years.
Inexplicably, they thought it was a good idea to fix the next SPL Old Firm game at Ibrox for New Year's Eve. The idea hasn't set off any alarm bells with the football authorities.
Glasgow is already shivering in trepidation.
#Hogmanay is trending in Scotland, an unusual sight in the middle of September.
Glasgow city centre on Hogmanay after an Old Firm derby. Is this an experiment? Are we being experimented on? https://t.co/dAfIKdkvGr

Nice to see #Hogmanay trending on Twitter today. Not! Does anybody else wonder if sports administrators live in a parallel universe?

Both @spfl & @PoliceScotland silent on safety implications of Hogmanay Old Firm match. They have a public duty to explain why game not moved
