Exeter City earned themselves a replay at Anfield after a cracking cup tie against Liverpool in the FA Cup third round on Friday night finished 2-2.
While the neutrals watching will have been gutted that the lower league club couldn't hold on after twice gaining the lead in the match, those at Exeter City will absolutely not be gutted considering the financial benefits of drawing rather than winning the game.
Thanks to @sportingintel it has become apparent that Exeter are set to earn around £700,000 from their trip to Anfield, as opposed to less than £70,000 for progressing in the competition:
Exeter win £67,500 and a fourth-round berth for winning this tonight. Or about £700,000 as their cut from an Anfield replay if they draw.

That is a significant boost to a club of Exeter's size.
They also are still in the competition, and get to play at Anfield, so this really was the best case scenario for Clinton Morrison and his teammates.
