Football Kit unveilings are among the many things that the internet has ruined, with these unveilings - one of the few important events in June in non-tournament years - stripped of all mystery as new kits are frequently leaked online months in advance of the official unveiling. Next season's Liverpool kit appeared online ahead of its launch in the summer. It is really rather nice:
It has only been revealed today, however, that the kit also contains a hidden message. Embroidered in yellow, it reads 'there's no noise like the Anfield noise', a reference to a quote by former Liverpool striker Ian St John.
After a soporific year, the arrival of Jurgen Klopp and the bewildering victory against Borussia Dortmund has improved the atmosphere at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp striving to draw on the raucous atmosphere his supporters can create.
Klopp's press conferences and media strategy has notably called on the crowd to ratchet up the noise and create an intimidating atmosphere at the ground, while also begging supporters to end their strange habit of leaving games early. The fact that the shirt players will wear under Klopp now references the crowd is probably not a coincidence.
