Liverpool are a club with long standing links to Ireland, with some top class Irish players having graced Anfield down through the years. Seeing such footballers at the club has not been quite as common over the last couple of decades, although they will have two players from the island of Ireland in their squad this season in the form of Caoimhín Kelleher and Conor Bradley.
There will also be another player with a history in Ireland, even if he does not hail from the country itself.
Vitezslav Jaros had a hugely successful stint in the League of Ireland back in 2021, with the Czech goalkeeper helping St Pat's to an FAI Cup triumph as well as a second placed finish in the Premier Division.
He joined on loan from Liverpool that season as a relative unknown, but his career has gone from strength to strength after point, most notably last season when he helped Sturm Graz to an Austrlian Bundesliga title. He would also be part of the Czechia squad at Euro 2024.
Now, the 23-year old is set to become part of the Liverpool first team squad.

Ex LOI Standout Enjoying Slot Approach After Liverpool Breakthrough
Vitezslav Jaros featured in numerous pre-season friendlies for Liverpool in recent weeks, with the Czech stopper set to act as the club's third choice goalkeeper for the upcoming campaign after the departure of Adrian.
Speaking at an LFC Foundation Kicks Inclusion Camp, he admitted that he has been very impressed with the approach of new manager Arne Slot since coming into the squad.
I think it was very important for pre-season to be quite long for the gaffer to get his messages across and people to get used to the playing style and get comfortable.
We would do quite a lot of tactical sessions to get the messages across. There is a bit of a different playing style now so we had to do a quite a lot for that, quite a lot of meetings about the principles.
It is still the same job, it is still football. You still do the basics and come in and work hard so that will stay the same, it is only little bits that needed tweaking.
It took time to get used to it but there are a lot of good footballers in the team and the better you are, the easier it is to get used to it.
If anyone watches all the (pre-season) games one by one, the further down the line the games get better and we get better so I think everyone is ready now for the season...
Every season, the size of the club Liverpool is, the aim is to win the league but if not the top four is the bare minimum – I think everyone at the club would say that.
While it remains to be seen how much playing time Jaros will get at Liverpool this season, he has certainly come on a huge amount since first arriving at St Pat's back in 2021.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of his career plays out.
