LA Galaxy striker Robbie Rogers spoke to Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight last night about coming out as gay. 26 year old Rogers abruptly left Leeds United earlier last February and briefly retired before announcing he was gay. He has since signed for LA Galaxy.

Rogers is only the second footballer to have played professionally in Britain to come out as gay. The first was former Norwich City and Nottingham Forest centre-forward, Justin Fashanu.
