Chelsea have been knocked back in their pursuit of one of Everton's brightest young talents as Sky Sports have revealed that a £20m bid has been rejected by the Toffees.
Despite a fantastic season from club captain John Terry, along with England international Gary Cahill and the introduction of the hottly tipped Kurt Zouma, it appears that Chelsea are still in the market for a defender after Everton today rejected a bid for John Stones.

Stones is considered one of the best young defenders in Europe after a string of impressive performances alongside Phil Jagielka, and Jose Mourinho clearly wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge, but Everton have knocked back the offer.
It is unclear whether Chelsea will make an improved bid, but Everton will surely be keen to keep hold of their young star so you would have to imagine that it would take a lot more than £20m to force through a move.
We'll bring you more on this as we get it.
