If Everton fans were hoping to appoint a manager with past experience of pissing off supporters of their rivals Liverpool, they may be on the cusp of success. The Telegraph are today reporting that the club are set to hold talks with current Sevilla manager Unai Emery next week, with a view to the Spaniard succeeding compatriot Roberto Martinez.
Emery, of course, is currently in charge of Sevilla, who won their third Europa League title in a row against Liverpool in midweek and face Barcelona in tonight's Copa Del Rey final.
Emery is believed to quite fancy a move to Merseyside, and the club will meet with him over the next few days. The Telegraph also stress that it is unclear whether Emery is first choice: Dutchmen Ronald Koeman and Frank De Boer are also believed to be in contention for the job.
De Boer's brother Ronald - the brothers bizarrely share a twitter account - has spoken of his brother's desire to join Everton.
Emery also has a strong social media game, and was quick to update his twitter bio after the victory against Liverpool:
