There is no denying that Spurs have improved considerably under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino but surely labeling them as the best team in England is a stretch?

Let's examine the facts: Spurs finished 3rd in the Premier League last season, which is a considerable obstacle to their claims to be the best team in the land. In fact, Spurs have never won the Premier League - another stumbling block to Pochettino's lofty claims.

Now, just so you know we're not making this up...

Now, you'd imagine that Pochettino would have rolled out the 'best team in England' rhetoric on the back of a sensational Tottenham display in their first Champions League game of the season but no, they actually lost 2-1 at home (well, their temporary European home at Wembley) to Monaco. The goals are below.

It must be wonderful to be Spurs fan. Even when your team plays shite, you're still streets ahead of everyone else.
