It has been a difficult few months for Evan Ferguson, but it will be expected that the Ireland striker will rediscover his form once the new season kicks off next weekend.

Having started the 2023/24 campaign with a flourish, the teenager found the going altogether more difficult after the turn of the year. A mixture of injury issues and lack of form saw him come in and out of the Brighton side, with his final league goal of the season coming in November.

Despite this, he remains one of the most tantalising young strikers in the Premier League. It has been previously suggested that Europe's biggest clubs were closely monitoring Evan Ferguson’s progress at Brighton.

In fact, one of them could even be considering making a move for his as soon as this summer.

The Daily Star are reporting that Manchester United are considering a £50million move for Evan Ferguson before the end of the transfer window.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the Irishman over the last year or so, having tracked him since his time as youth player at St Kevin's. While Ferguson would ultimately opt for a move to Brighton over Old Trafford, United have maintained their interest since his move to England.

It has previously been suggested that Brighton would seek a fee in excess of £100million in order to sanction the sale of the forward. Considering his lack of form in the second half of last season, now does not seem like the ideal time to cash in on their prized asset.

A signing of the ilk of Evan Ferguson would fit the transfer strategy employed by Manchester United since their recent change of ownership, with the club targeting young players with high potential.

However, it is doubtful that Brighton would entertain offers of in the region of £50million for the striker this summer.
