Following last week's report that Evan Ferguson will look for a move away from Brighton in search of regular first-team football come January, two Premier League clubs have expressed their interest in signing the 20-year-old.
A move away from the seagulls would cap off what has been a difficult eighteen months for Ferguson in Brighton.
The Bettystown native burst onto the scene in 2023, taking both Ireland and the Premier League by storm when he scored ten goals in his opening season. However, despite his early rise to fame and pundits valuing him as high as 100 million pounds, an injury-stricken year has seen Ferguson fall out of favour in South England.
The Irish forward first suffered a minor knee injury that stinted his previously rapid performance and limited him to just six goals last season, before a more serious ankle injury which required surgery kept him out of action for much of 2024.
While Ferguson has now returned from injury, the glittering form of Brighton's Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro has kept him far from breaking back into the starting xi.

Evan Ferguson linked with two Premier League clubs
That lack of game-time under Fabian Huzler has led the Meath man to go in search of regular Premier League game-time away from Brighton, with Wayne Veysey of Football Insider reporting that both Fulham and Leicester City are keen to sign the youngster.
However having penned a new contract last year that keeps him in Brighton until 2029, the 20-year-old won't be cheap and any potential move from Leicester City or Fulham would have to come with deep pockets and an open wallet, a factor which could make a loan deal more attractive.
While there is little doubt that more game time is imperative for Ferguson who has only made eight club and league appearances for Brighton this season, Ferguson's choice could have a long-lasting bearing on how his undeniable talent develops.
As it stands, Fulham are the in-form team, sitting tenth in the Premier League having lost just four of their opening twelve games this season.
On the other hand, Leicester City are now without a manager and just a single point clear of the relegation zone in 16th place. That said, plenty of high-profile managers are currently being linked with the role, including Graham Potter - a prospect that could lure the remarkably young Ferguson further down the Premier League table.
