As much as we tell ourselves we must be careful not to get carried away when it comes to Evan Ferguson, as we watch him in the Premier League every week, it is becoming increasingly difficult not to lose the run of ourselves.
The 18-year old phenom hit new heights this evening, scoring all three goals for Brighton as they recorded a hugely impressive 3-1 victory over Newcastle United. It is his first hat-trick in senior football.

It was his strike that gave them the lead in the first half, showing good instincts in the penalty area to react quickest to the rebound off Nick Pope.

If the first goal was all about instinct, the second was just pure quality.
It was a strike from long range on this occasion, beating Pope all ends up with a sensational hit from outside the box.

The third wasn't the most eye-catching, but Ferguson won't care about that.
It came with the help of a big deflection, although the goal was credited to the Meath man as the strike looked as though it was on target initially.

A Premier League hat-trick at 18-years old. Not bad.
Evan Ferguson is the first Irishman to score three goals in fixture in the division since Jonathan Walters did so back in 2015. He also joins Michael Owen, Chris Bart-Williams, and Robbie Fowler as the only players to score a hat-trick in the Premier League before their 19th birthdays.

It's safe to say the future is bright.
Evan Ferguson will now be concentrating on international duties, with the player set to link up with the Ireland squad ahead of their games against France and the Netherlands next week.
Hopefully he can carry his scoring form into a green jersey.
