Steven Gerrard's performance last night capped a miserable couple of months for the Liverpool midfielder. And the European press have piled on today.

Very often when players come on with just a few minutes remaining, newspapers say they weren't on long enough to be rated.

Steven Gerrard managed to receive no rating from the Spanish newspaper AS today despite playing the full 90 minutes.

While they only appear to rate players up to three (Suarez was the only player to receive this rating) Gerrard was alone among the players who played last night in receiving no rating.

Elsewhere, the respected French sports newspaper L'Equipe felt he was only worthy of a rating of 3. In this, he was at least joined by Phil Jagielka.
