Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, and Turkey - the group of death. Outside of Ireland, this is the group that provides the most intrigue. Will Croatia's talent see them through? How will Spain overcome the loss of the skeleton of the team that have dominated the world? Will Turkey and Czech Republic challenge at all?
Continuing our group by group preview with Ladbrokes, our Prophets for Profit - the Sunday Independent's and ESPN's Miguel Delaney and Nathan Murphy of Newstalk - have had a look at where some of the value might lay in Group D and have been splashing the cash of the €200 in charity bets given to them by Ladbrokes for the tournament.
First up, how will Spain do? They've left a lot of talent at home - including Isco and Saul, but can Iniesta and co do the business?
I bet you weren't expecting that. Miguel doesn't fancy Spain, and does fancy them in the same breath. The 8/1 on Spain not qualifying from the group was too tempting for Miguel, who hedged his bets and put €20 on them to win the tournament if they do.
Nathan was far more pragmatic, comparing Iniesta in 2016 to Pirlo in 2012, and the 25/1 on the Barcelona wizard to win the player of the tournament looks a shrewd move. Nathan is also getting behind dark horses Croatia - €15 on at 9/1 to reach the semi-finals looks an interesting move. The group think that Croatia could upset the odds and win the group of death.
Groups E and F to come over the weekend and if you missed Groups A, B, and C over the last couple of days, you can find them here.
Don't forget we'll be catching up with Miguel and Nathan every Friday during the tournament on our special daily Euros podcast.
