This time last year we were still licking our wounds from Euro 2012, and now it looks likely that only three of the Irish starting 11 against Croatia last summer will be playing in their club football in the Premier League come August.
Shay Given is on the verge of signing a loan deal with Doncaster Rovers, according to the Daily Mail, and Richard Dunne in negotiations with QPR. Should those deals go through it would mean that apart from Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) and Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow), the only other players from our Euro 2012 starting side still playing top-flight football are Damien Duff, John O'Shea and Glenn Whelan.
Compare this to when they took the field against Croatia, and the only player who hadn't played top-flight that season was Sean St Ledger. What a difference a year makes.
