Egypt's Essam El Hadary has made history today after the 45-year-old made a spectacular penalty save against Saudi Arabia. The Egyptian is the oldest man ever to appear at a World Cup and now holds the record for the oldest goalkeeper ever to save a penalty in the competition.
The penalty came as a result of a harsh handball against Egypt, but Fahad Al-Muwallad could not make the decision count as his spot kick was brilliantly tipped onto the post by El Hadary:

Unfortunately the veteran keeper was not able to save his country twice, with another penalty given deep into first half injury time giving Saudi Arabia a life line in the match:
