An outrageous late finish from Erling Haaland against his former side Borussia Dortmund secured victory for Manchester City in the Champions League.

In a game where City were far from their best, after a dull first half, England midfielder Jude Bellingham headed Dortmund in front, putting interested clubs on further alert with his all-action display tonight.

While City pushed for a winner, it looked like Dortmund were going to hold on for a surprising win at the Etihad, until an unlikely source in John Stones scored a rocket from outside the box to draw City level.

Four minutes later, Joao Cancelo's superb cross was met by an acrobatic volley from Erling Haaland to seal victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.
