Eoghan O'Connell will leave Celtic on loan this month reports The Scotsman.
The Corkman will join up with Kilmarnock on Monday.
O'Connell featured in Champions League games against Astana, Hapoel Beer-Sheva and Barcelona earlier in the season but has not played for Brendan Rodgers' side since September.
O'Connell slipped down the ranks at Parkhead to be behind first choice duo Jozo Simunovic Erik Sviatchenko along with Kolo Toure.
Brendan Rodgers indicated in November that O'Connell getting match practice away from Celtic was a possibility.
He did very well in pre-season but the team has changed and he is not getting so much game time. So if he can get out on loan that will give him the game time he needs to develop.
It will not be the 21-year-old's first loan away from Celtic. In 2015 he spent time at Oldham and last year played for Cork City.
O'Connell joining Kilmarnock will help the club alleviate a defensive crisis. Kilmarnock are currently third from bottom of the Scottish Premiership.
