Peter Shilton has said that the image of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's helicopter crashing outside the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening is one which will live with him and his wife forever.
The former England goalkeeper, who began his career with Leicester, was in attendance at the Premier League game between Leicester City and West Ham.
"It was one of the most horrendous things that anyone could ever see," Shilton told BBC regarding the crash which killed five, including Leicester City owner, Srivaddhanaprabha.
We were coming out of the ground just to get into our car and we saw the chairman's helicopter above us. All of a sudden, it seemed to be making a funny noise and started to spin.
It was surreal at the time and we weren't sure what was happening and then it started to spiral. We realised it was out of control and all of a sudden it started coming towards us.
"My wife [Steph] started panicking, saying, 'It's coming towards us' and it was shock, fear," continued Shilton.
"All of a sudden it seemed to drop a bit and then crash.
"There were sparks coming out the back and then there were some small flames and then larger flames - this all happened very quickly - and then suddenly it just blew up.
"My wife became hysterical. I was in shock, I think I still am. I grabbed hold of her. She wanted to do something, but obviously we couldn't.
"The police arrived very quickly, then the fire engines came and we were so helpless."
