After England's disappointing 0-0 draw with USA, fans have now began to turn on ITV, claiming the channel has them cursed at major tournaments.

In a very disappointing performance by Gareth Southgate's side, they failed to create many opportunities as the USA were the better team and could've left the game with the three points.

While England looked solid defensively, they were overran in midfield, with Phil Foden, James Madison and Trent Alexander-Arnold all on the bench, arguably England's three most creative players.

Unless there is a huge win for Wales against England, they should be safely through to the group stages due to their superior goal difference, with USA securing a place in the knockout stages if they defeat Iran.

The ITV Curse

Every time a major tournament comes around, you can depend on English fans to find a scapegoat as to why they are not performing to the best of their abilities. Whether it's a particular player, coach or system, there is always something.

However, a crazy statistic has shown England's poor form on ITV, with fans claiming this is the reason for their poor performance in the draw to the USA.

For the World Cup and European championships, the coverage is always split between BBC and ITV. When England are shown on BBC, they have won 11, drawn one and lost three games at major tournaments since 1998.

However, on ITV, they only have two victories, six draws and five losses when they are shown on the channel. The fans have noticed this trend, and have made it one of the reasons for their poor performance against the USA.

While the statistics may not make for pleasant reading for England, fans are convinced the ITV curse is now real. Thankfully for them, their final group game against Wales in on BBC, with ITV waiting in the knockout stages.
