In the aftermath of the Paris attacks in November 2015, England played France at Wembley. Taking place just days after the attack, there were questions as to whether it should have gone ahead. It did, and the English fans observed an impeccable minute's silence. Their efforts at singing 'La Marseillaise' were praised by all fans and pundits alike.
Tonight, the roles were reversed.
England were playing their second game since the terrorist attacks in Manchester and London, having drawn with Scotland at the weekend. The Stade de France was the venue for a heavyweight friendly. And the French FA organised a wonderful tribute.
Firstly, the sides ran out on to the field to the tune of 'Don't Look Back In Anger' by Manchester icons Oasis.
Then, when it came to the anthems, the French fans belted out both their own anthem and that of their opponents, God Save the Queen.
It gained widespread positive reaction on social media.
Well done France. That was pretty special #FRAENG
