Before the end of the week, that's the latest timeframe coming out from Liverpool. At the very latest it's looking likely that Jurgen Klopp will be in the away dugout by the time Liverpool face Spurs on October 17th.
If nothing else, Klopp will bring a bit of excitement to the job. Brendan Rodgers has had plenty of backers since the decision to sack him was taken but there's one criticism that Rodgers could never seem to get past. He simply didn't have the personality or the aura for the job.
That may be complete nonsense of course but the endless cliches took their toll on Rodgers' reputation and eventually he began to show. If personality or a lack thereof was Rodgers' problem then it's no surprise that FSG are looking for Klopp. A lack of personality is certainly not something you'll see from the German and he'll unite the Liverpool fans like no other manager in world.
And one player who seems to be looking forward to Klopp's imminent arrival is, unsurprisingly, Emre Can. The Liverpool midfielder/defender is in the Germany squad ahead of the key Euro qualifier in Dublin on Thursday and German newspaper Die Welt managed to get a quick word with Can about his prospective new manager.
Jurgen Klopp is certainly a great coach. I think he has demonstrated in Dortmund that he can work at any team in the world.
Not exactly reams of glowing quotes but still it's enough to get Liverpool fans that little bit more excited ahead of an expected arrival that could, potentially, get the excitement level at Anfield ballooning once again.
