If, at any stage over the last couple of days, you sought proof of the outside world from condensed family gatherings, you may have become aware of the plight now endured by Emmanuel Eboue.
Unable to play football owing to a medical condition and a FIFA ban for failing to pay an agent, Eboue lost a fortune a divorce from his wife Aurelie. Now, he spends much of his time sleeping on a friend's floor.Eboue admitted that he has considered taking his own life.
There has been a heartening response to the tale, however, from Eboue's former club Galatasaray. Fatih Terim is back coaching the club yet again, and having read the tale of Eboue's problems, the club are now going to offer Eboue a job working with the club's academy.
Terim told CNN Turk that "we heard news about Eboue in the dressing room, I was informed there, we will do whatever we can to help my friend". The role is expected to be as an assistant coach of the club's under-14s. Eboue is grateful for such a gesture:
I would be very happy if Fatih gave me the duty in Galatasaray. Fatih Terim is my father, I love him very much, I do everything for him because I love him very much.
