El Hadji Diouf Is Probably Regretting His Idiotic Comments About Steven Gerrard

When reports emerged from Senegal yesterday that El Hadji Diouf had launched a scathing attack on Steven Gerrard, the football world came together in one immediate thought. 'That idiot better have a good lawyer'.

The former Liverpool, Rangers and Leeds attacker told Futur Media in his home country that 'Liverpool is not a club that welcomes black players' and also singled out Gerrard as being something of a ringleader in that regard. Diouf even went as far to say that 'it is common knowledge that Gerrard has never liked blacks'.

Obviously enough, the reaction to that has been resoundingly critical of Diouf who, in the same interview suggested that Gerrard was jealous of his lofty standing in world football. With that in mind, it's worth noting that Diouf currently plays for Sabah FA in the Malaysian second division.

Thankfully, the result that everyone was hoping for when they read the comments appears to be coming to pass. It has now been confirmed that Gerrard is seeking legal advice over the comments. The former Liverpool captain has chosen not to comment on the allegations specifically but we'd suggest that Diouf may be hearing a bit more about this over the coming weeks and months.
